Nestled above the John Barleycorn in River North, Chicago’s premier lounge, Tunnel, opened its doors in February 2015.

Blending the allure of a high-energy nightlife experience with VIP treatment, Tunnel transforms its venue nightly into a unique scene. As you climb each step, you begin to wonder what adventure awaits you upstairs.

The intimate space is an exclusive cocktail lounge portrays a contemporary mural created by emerging Chicago artist David Bozic. Color changing LED lights hang from the ceiling and state-of-the-art lighting synchronizes with a Martin Audio sound system and 12-panel video wall for an unrivaled audio-visual experience.

Tufted leather sofas and handcrafted tables along perimeter of the space provide ample room for 120 party-goers to enjoy bottle service. Emerging DJs from across the country, as well as local talent, spin in a LED and metal plexiglass framed booth; bringing vibrant energy to Chicago’s River North.

As name suggests, the nondescript entrance on Kinzie Street opens to hidden covered staircase inspired by London’s infamous urban tunnels. Look for John Barleycorn awning farthest to right and an up arrow on door for entrance.

The music:
Tunnel Nightclub DJs play mostly Top 40 & EDM music. However, depending on event, music genres can vary.

Drink prices:
• Expect to pay $15-20 for cocktails.
• Bottles start at around $250.

Admission:
• Cover charge is usually around $20 and at doorman’s discretion.

When to go:
• Tunnel Chicago is open on Fri-Sun.
• All nights are good.

The dress code at Tunnel Chicago is casual but a little bit polished. Collared Shirts preferred for gentlemen, and jeans are accepted.

Shoes and loafers only. No open-toe sandals, flip-flops, work boots or sneakers are allowed. No athletic attire (e.g. ball caps, jerseys). Management reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone.
